Dr. Yin-Shan Meng is currently a doctoral supervisor and full professor in Dalian University of Technology. He graduated from the College of Chemistry in Beijing Normal University in 2012 with a bachelor's degree. From 2012 to 2017, he pursued his Ph.D. in Inorganic Chemistry at Peking University, working under the guidance of Academician Song Gao and Professor Bing-Wu Wang. During this period, he focused on the design and construction of rare earth metal organic molecular nanomagnets and their structure-property relationships. In July 2017, he joined the State Key Laboratory of Fine Chemicals at Dalian University of Technology. His research primarily revolves photoresponsive molecular nanomagnets and magneto-electric bistable molecular materials. In 2022, he received funding from the National Natural Science Foundation of China for Outstanding Young Scholars. Over the years, he has published over 90 papers in journals such as Nat. Chem., Angew. Chem. Int. Ed., Acc. Chem. Res., Chem. Sci., Inorg. Chem. Front., and Chem. Eur. J, etc. He has also been involved in research projects supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, including general projects and youth projects, as well as open topics at the Beijing National Laboratory for Molecular Sciences. He now serves as the assistant director of the Frontier Science Center for Smart Materials, Dalian University of Technology. He is also a Young Editorial Board Member of the "Chinese Chemical Letters." He has been invited to deliver presentations at conferences like the 2021 Asian Molecular Magnet Conference and the Symposium on Inorganic Chemistry and Chemical Engineering in Middle Western China. His research interests mainly focus on phase transitions and multiferroicity in rare earth molecular materials, magneto-electric and magneto-optical coupling in spin-crossover molecular materials, and the magnetic effects in spin-related molecular chemical reactions. He was recognized as a "Rising Star" at the 18th International Conference on Molecule-Based Magnets (ICMM) and the International Conference of Spin Transition (ICST) in 2018 and 2020. He is also part of Dalian University of Technology's talent cultivation program. He was designated as a scarce talent in Dalian in 2018 and was awarded the Young Chemist Award by the Chinese Chemical Society in 2022 and the first prize in Science and Technology by the China Association for Instrumental Analysis in 2023 (fourth contributor).
