Hiroki Oshio , a Ph.D. supervisor, is now a full professor at the School of Chemical Engineering. He is an Honorary Professor at the University of Edinburgh in the United Kingdom and a Visiting Professor at the University of Valencia in Spain. In 1977, he obtained his Bachelor of Science degree from Kyushu University in Japan, and in 1982, he earned his Ph.D. in Science from Kyushu University. From 1982 to 2001, he conducted research at various institutions, including Kyushu University, the Institute for Molecular Science in Japan, and Tohoku University. In 2001, he joined the University of Tsukuba in Japan as a professor and served as the Head of the Department from 2014 to 2016. In April 2019, he joined the State Key Laboratory of Fine Chemicals at Dalian University of Technology. Hiroki Oshio has received several prestigious awards, including the Young Chemist Award, Innovation Award, Coordination Chemistry Award from the Chemical Society of Japan, and the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science, and Technology Award. He has served as an advisory editor for journals like Dalton Transactions, CrystEngComm, and Inorganic Chemistry, and as an Associate Editor for Inorganic Chemistry Frontiers (IF = 7.0). He is currently a permanent council member of the International Society of Coordination Chemistry and the International Committee for Molecular Magnets. He has published over 200 research papers in Nature Chemistry, Nature Communications, Angewandte Chemie International Edition, and the Journal of the American Chemical Society, etc. His research primarily focuses on functional responsive molecular materials exhibiting spin crossover and charge transfer behavior. He is committed to developing magnetic molecular switch materials that respond to multiple external stimuli and systematically studying the intrinsic structure-activity relationships through the ingenious design of functional ligands to construct specific multi-nuclear complexes.
