Prof. Chen Chen

Dr. Chen Chen,PhD supervisor, is currently an Associate Professor at the National Key Laboratory of Fine Chemicals, Dalian University of Technology. His academic journey began at Sichuan University, where he studied Chemical Engineering and received both his Bachelor's and Master's degrees under the guidance of Prof. Liang-Yin Chu and Prof. Wei Wang. Following this, from 2017 to 2021, Dr. Chen pursued his PhD in Natural Sciences successively at Universität Duisburg-Essen and Universität Münster under the supervision of Professor André Gröschel. He then undertook postdoctoral research at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, supported by the Postdoctoral International Exchange Program, before joining Dalian University of Technology in August 2024. Dr. Chen’s research focuses on the design and construction of high-performance cascade catalytic systems, microfluidics, and microchemical technologies. His work extends to functional microspheres and microcapsules, as well as the synthesis and assembly of polymers and colloids. His contributions have been published in high-impact journals such as Journal of the American Chemical Society (JACS), Angewandte Chemie, Science Advances, CCS Chemistry, and Small, among others. Dr. Chen is keen on collaborating with motivated researchers and students at all academic levels—undergraduates, masters, PhD students, and postdoctoral fellows.
